The Crosswalk

We complain about the cross we bear but don't realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot. Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine, after the rain....
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall;
But God's always ready, to answer your call....
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
a word from His lips, can calm every fear...
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, by dawn's early light...
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above,
to give you His grace, and send you His love.
May God fill your day with blessings!!
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle!

-- Remember - Keep SmilingIt makes people wonder what you're up to!!

A Good Lesson

One evening, an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people. He said, "My son, the battle is between the two 'wolves' inside us all. One wolf is Evil: It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.The other wolf is Good: It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth and compassion."The boy thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?" The old man simply replied, "The one you feed."

Ten Commandments Plain and Simple

Ten Commandments

Some people have trouble with all those 'shall's' and 'shall not's' in the Ten commandments. Folks just aren't used to talking in those terms.. So, in middle Tennessee they translated the 'King James' into 'Jackson County' language..... no joke, (posted on the wall at Cross Trails Church in Gainesboro, TN)

(1) Just one God
(2) Put nothin' before God
(3) Watch yer mouth
(4) Git yourself to Sunday meetin'
(5) Honor yer Ma & Pa
(6) No killin'
(7) No foolin' around with another fellow's gal
(8) Don't take what ain't yers
(9) No tellin' tales or gossipin'
(10) Don't be hankerin' for yer buddy's stuff

Y'all have a nice day.

Prince Caspian Review

Here is the movie review from Josiah our Junior High Film Critic.
Thanks Josiah

Hey Grandmo
Personally in all the movie was a too thumbs up. The movie was rated PG for fighting and scary seens. DO NOT take little siblings to this movie. the story had less of a plot than the first, but way more fighting and action, more characters and better acting. All in all, the movie was excellent. I would recommend you guys go to see it this "cheap night" tuesday.

Testimony

Tonight at Junior High we discussed about what a testimony is as a part of witnessing to others.
I know some of you feel that you have nothing to share But You Do.
I want you all to think about what brought you to Christ.
Perhaps it may have been your upbringing or perhaps you felt alone and needed a place to feel safe.
Perhaps you were curious about others around you that talked about God.
remember testimonies can be good things as well.
eg: Ben D's healing of his shoulder,Sarah Maracle sharing her fathers prayers over a new born baby.
These are all testimonies. Repeat them to others. Share the goodness of them with your friends. These are miracles.

I shared with all of you my testimony tonight when I was a teen mother.
The struggles, the name calling, but most importantly my cry to God for help.
This cry of desperation when I was young has lead me to where I am today.
God answered my prayers that day even when I didn't know what my prayers were.
It took 27 years for His answere.
The answere being I am not alone. I have a best friend in Jesus.
Brandy also shared her testimony on how she came to Christ and her struggle between being a good Christian and still wanting to live in this world as a teenager.
She struggled but God was patient and now she is your Junior High Leader.
Can I get an Amen?
God needed to show Brandy and I the paths that we needed to take. Even when we took the wrong paths God was always by our side holding our hands and gently leading us back to the path He wanted us to take.

Guys I know life can be hard at times but God always answeres your prayers.
Sometimes he may so NO and this can be very dissapointing, but remember He does everything for your own good and in His own time because He loves you so much.

Some of you shared your testimonies tonight and shared of others testimonies and they were all wonderful.
As I said feel free to share these with others. When you share these stories and how God brought good out of bad or happiness out of sorrow or just plain Joy to ones heart this is called witnessing.
Be as brave as Daniel and share away.

Now for another testimony thanks to all your prayers.
God answeres us with Blessings.
Jodie Jenkins wanted me to share with you a heartfelt thank you for our constant prayers for the homeless shelter.
Today a woman came to Jodie and handed him a cheque for $1000 dollars to help in whatever way needed for a new shelter.
Now that is a testimony of your faith and prayers for the homeless.
That is also a testimony on How God works.
Lets now Praise God for sending this wonderful woman into our lives and bless her in our nightly and daily prayers.

Father we thank you for your blessings. We desire to share your good works and abundant blessings with testimony on all that we have received in our lives, beit 10years or 45 years. Thank you Lord for sending this woman to Jodie and may you bless her abundantly as she has blessed us. Thank you for Jodie and his faithfullness to you and his heartfelt love for the homeless in our city.
We love you Lord
Amen

Savannah's Story

This is from Savannah

At the Jr.High Convention I was really praying that my friend Krysten would become a Christain and now she is one and a couple nights after that I prayed that God would show me like a sign that she was enjoying it and was really thankful and stuff so the next day my sister e-mailed me and said that she had signed into my msn by mistake and there was a little thing that poped up from Krysten and it said that she was really thankful and she was wondering if I could tell her what to say again cause her friend was going through a hard time and she thought it could really help her out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

During the Conference I (Grandmo) turned around to see one of our beautiful young ladies crying her eyes out.
I went over to comfort her but comfort was not needed as Savannah wasn't sad but drunk.
Yes she was drunk! with the Holy Spirit.
Between the tears came the laughter and I recall her saying to me "I am not sad Grandmo but really happy,so happy I can't get up and can't stop crying."
Savannah has allowed me to share this story with you as this was an experience she will never forget. The Lord filled her with His love and she was so happy.
She was not frightened but overwhelmed with joy. Gods joy for her.
Our Father loves us so much and sometimes, perhaps when we may have a moment of doubt,He comes to us and hugs our hearts until we cry out with tears of joy.
God answered Savannahs prayers that day.She really wanted to bring her friend Krysten to Christ and I am pleased to tell you that Savannah shared that Krysten would like to attend our Junior High.
We are all looking forward to meeting you Krysten.

About Us.

As part of Desert Streams Family I would like to introduce to you who we are and our Mission for your children.
Pastor Mark McFaul: Family Ministries Pastor
Brandy and Jason Beaumont: Junior High Leadership
Sarah McFaul: Junior High Co-Leader
Maureen Gilbey: Junior High Co-Leader.

Together as a team we desire to bring Christ into the lives of our Children for they are our future.
Presently we are studying Dare to be a Daniel.
This is about having the bravery of Daniel even in todays times.
It can be tough out there in this big world with Bullying,Drugs,Divorce and many other things, that we as adults may have never had to deal with when we were children.

However with Dare to be a Daniel this course is teaching the children that they need not be afraid as Christ is beside them in their daily walk.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Phil:4:13

Our Junior Highs are a fantastic group of children.
Their thirst for the Lord is amazing.
Their Bravery is Admirable.
Their testimonies Truthful
Their Love for Christ..... PRICELESS

Desert Stream also offers Conventions and Retreats for the children.
And of Course their favourite, Game nights.
Our age group is Gr.6-8
